What this notice covers

This notice explains what happens to the details you send us through the request form on masjidtv.com (“Request the pack”) and when you write to us. It is written for the masjids, community builders and families who use this site.

What we store

When you request a pack we store what you type into the form: your name, your masjid or business, your city, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and which pack you asked for (masjid, community builder or family). We also store the consent text you were shown and the time you accepted it, whether you ticked “Yes, keep me posted about MasjidTV” and when, and the time of the request.

When you write to Support

When you send a message from the Support page we store your name, your email address, the topic you picked and your message, so a person can answer you. We keep support messages for 24 months after your last reply, then delete them, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Why we store it

To send you the pack you asked for, to reply if you have questions, and to keep a record of your consent as Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) requires. If you ticked “keep me posted”, we also use your email address to send you occasional news about MasjidTV until you tell us to stop. We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not sell them.

Where it is stored

Your details are stored with Cloudflare, outside Canada. Cloudflare hosts this site, the database that holds requests, and the email that sends your pack. Replies land in our Microsoft 365 mailbox. Only the people at Ummah Media Corporation who handle requests can see them.

How long we keep it

We keep a request for 24 months after it is made, then delete it. If you have asked us to keep you posted, we keep your email address and your consent record until you unsubscribe, and the consent record itself for as long as the law requires. If your masjid or business goes on to work with MasjidTV, the details move into that working relationship and are kept while it lasts.

Your choices

Every “keep me posted” email carries an unsubscribe link; one click and the messages stop. You can also ask us at any time to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within 30 days.

The law that applies

We handle personal information under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
